Back in time...

Today was my final day of R.A.ing for the summer. The end has finally come and Mitch, Sean, and I were all about celebrating it. I think I must preface the whole story by giving some background information. So, every year Sterling, a town about an hour and half away from Rochester, holds the annual Renaissance Festival. In a campground of about 25 acres there are tents, houses, dirt roads, and of course people dressed in period clothing. One is actually taken back to the 15th and 16th centuries. One can see jousting, Queen Elizabeth I, an array of actors that play very well the role of peasants. A friend of ours, Mike, is actually working there as a young gallant by the name of Alexander Gibbs.
Back to the story: Mitch and Sean had been planning to go to this festival for quite a while and when I arrived at Rochester, they insisted that I should come along, too. But Sean and Mitch are two people that take everything to the extreme. So, they decided that we needed costumes. But we weren't going to be simple Renaissance peasants. They opted for being robots from the future. Of course, at first the idea was superb, but we couldn't get together every weekend as planned to work on our costumes. Sean and Mitch worked immense amounts of hours on Sean's costume which turned out to be FANTASTIC!!! Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to make a descent costume. So, 30 minutes before leaving Sean handed me the ducktape and I made a ducktape armor, wrist and head bands, and decorated some pants. Let me tell you, that ducktape corsett was very difficult to make and extremely hot to wear. But nonetheless, it got the job done. And not to mention, it exentuated some parts of my body, a.k.a. the chest area. hehehe
When we arrived on the grounds of the festival, we added the final details to our costumes and fueled up of course on 'dunkel' German beers that we had previously bought at Beers of the World. We wouldn't of been able to pull of the shit that we did, if it weren't for our alcohol intoxication. I went by the name ofMaschina (just like the 'Smashing Pumpkins' last album) and I was a human from the future accompanied by my two robots. We were on a mission to find a bloke by the name of Alexander Gibbs (a.k.a. Mike) in order to restore the past and secure the future. We walked all around the festival and the reactions of all the people were great, even the actors'.
Sean had some speakers attached to the top to his costume that were adapted to his I-pod. Queen Elizabeth the First requested us to dance; so we danced "Tunuc, Tunuc" and pretty soon the queen, her maidens, and everybody around us were following our dance. It was great. People came up to us asking us if we worked there. It was such a fun experience just having everyone there turning there heads as we would cross paths. OMG, we were such a hit that I even ended up bethroted (engaged) to one of the Masters, an actor, working there. Apparently, he had a passion for the future and technology. Hahahaha I politely declined because "I had to return to future."
It rained throughout the entire day, but that did not keep us from taking advantage of this great opportunity. It was also refreshing to get wet by the drops of rain because our costumes were very hot. Oh, what an image... a futuristic girl by the name of Maschina covered with ducktape and soaking wet!!! ;) We indulged ourselves with grilled turkey legs which very much made us feel like we were in fact in the past. They were so yummy.
I think the best part of today was being able to do whatever the heck we wanted and not care what others thought. It was such a reliving feeling and I hope that I can take a little bit of that and use it in my everyday life.

Tunuc, Tunuc, Tunuc
Ooohh da da da!!!

On the way to Sterling Renaissance Festival. Are you ready to get down??? 'Cuz Sean is about ready to Rock!!!

Suiting Up!!! Before entering the festival...

Ducktaping the last details of Sean's costume and of course beer drinking... Check out the three beers in the car's trunk.

Mitch trying on his impromptu costume.

Everyone was in awe of our awesome presence, that even the actors working at the festival were taking pictures of us.

Behold, make way for the future. From left to right: Ignunot, Maschina, and RoboFrance. Check out the craftsmanship on that cardboard and ducktape. And yes, those are speakers on RoboFrance.

Mitch and I were misbehaving, so Sean decided to punish us. We were not happy campers.

Sean was starving to death. Look at him devour that turkey leg. His basic instinct took over...

Me, too!!! I am such a total savage... hehehe

The leftovers of my costume... who would of thought that wet ducktape stinks so badly?!?!?!

Just-in My Head...

There has been a recent trend of new songs coming out produced by Timbaland. From Nelly Furtado, to Justin Timberlake, to Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas. These songs all have a great base line and an awesome beat to dance to. But after experimenting a bit and listening to these three songs back to back, they practically sound the same. Their boppy beats are absorbed by the brain and makes the listener be completely engulfed by the beats. And just like every pop song, they become tape worms that take over your brain and become impossible to get out of your head. Even more so, the lyrics.... well, I don't think you can call them lyrics, let's just call them text. Unfortunately, I have been captured and I am now thinking of new dance steps to dance along with these songs. Hmmm, maybe a new dance for D'Motions hip-hop group? Ha!!!

The following are samples of the songs:

London Bridge
-Fergie

How come every time you come around
My London, London Bridge wanna go down
Like London London London
They're going down....

I am fine lady, but I'm dancing like a ho'

SexyBack
-Justin Timberlake

I am bringin' sexy back
And all you boys don't know how to act...

Dirty Babe, you see these shackles
Baby, I am your slave
I'll let you whip me if I misbehave
It's just that no one makes me feel this way

Promiscuous Girl
-Nelly Furtado

Wait! I don't mean no harm
I can see you with my t-shirt on
I can see you with nothing on
feeling on me before you bring that on
Bring that on
You know what I mean
Girl, I’m a freak you shouldn't say those things
I’m only trying to get inside your brain
To see if you can work me the way you say
It's okay, it's alright
I got something that you gon' like
Hey is that the truth or are you talking trash
Is your game M.V.P. like Steve Nash

Oh, when will it stop?!?!?!?!

dum, dum, dum, I can feel the beat
.........dum, dum, dum

Rochester's Bells

On top of the university's library there is a bell tower filled with magnificent bells that entice the ears of each passerby. The bells ring every fifteen minutes in order to let each student and faculty member know whether they are late or not. The ring of the bells are the trademark melody of the university and without them the University of Rochester would lose part of its identity. Every Monday evening during the summer, the university brings in professional bell ringers from around the world (They actually do exist!!!). At 7p.m. each Monday the professional bell ringers hold a concert and the school becomes engulfed by beautiful music coming from the heavens. Yesterday, after dinner I took my blanket, went to the Eastman Quad (the large green area where the library is located), laid upon the grass and heard the concert. I could feel the breeze carress my hair and the tickling grass underneath the part of my feet that weren't able to be protected by the blanket. As the wind embraced me and kept me warm, for a quick second I thought it was you. The sun was mid-low and there was a gorgeous glow of purples, pinks, reds, and oranges in the sky. I felt at peace for the first time in weeks. Being there, without any worries, without any thoughts of work and people, I could be alone with myself. I didn't think of anything that would disturb my privacy with the bells. It was a perfect evening to a not so perfect day.

The Last Stand..... ???

I finally got to see "X-Men 3: The Last Stand" last night. After dinner Sean and I went to the dollar cinema and saw that X-3 was playing. He has seen it already with Mitch, but of course the awesomeness of X-Men did not stop Mr. White from watching the film once again. I am so broke right now, that I honestly told myself and Sean that if the movie was more expensive than two dollars we would leave and try to download it. But alas, there is nothing like watching a movie like that on the big screen. The movie was good, but it lacks a little bit behind from the first two movies. Also, the title is a little bit deceiving because at the end of the movie there is a waaaay open interpretation that there will be some more ass kicking and that in fact, this film, wasn't the last stand. If you watch the movie, just make sure to watch ALL of it, up until the credits. There is about 20 seconds of film after the credits that MUST be watched!!! If not all will be lost, plus it's soooo outrageous.
Oh goodness, I just love movies and comics, and when the opportunity comes up to see both of them together (plus, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in those tight-ass-amazing-take me now-pants) gives me the chills!!! Sean and I (and hopefully, Mr. Mitch) are planning on watching "Superman Returns" next weekend in the IMAX theater with 3D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing!!! hahaha I love it!!!!

**Best quote of the movie:

Don't you know who I am ?
I am Juggernaut, BITCH!!!

Searching...

I have one more week left at my job, and then I can finally move out of that office and never have to work there again!!! I will also be moving (once again) to a friend's house for the month of August until school starts back up. I didn't want to go back to Texas because right now there isn't much of anything back at home, except for my family, but times are tough right now on the financial side. When one is gone for such a long time trvaveling and without any income coming in biweekly, it is bound to happen that one's bank account will shrink exponentially. So, I must stay and work here for the remainder of the summer. I must admit, it's a little bit lonely here right now. Yes, Sean, Nick, and Mitch are here, but they are working most of the time and during the time that they are not, I am. So, in conclusion, I don't see much of them at all. Diana will come back up on August 15th, but that's still a long ways from now.
My life has surely gone from one extreme to another in the time span of about a month. It wasn't long ago that I was walking down the streets of Braunschweig with someone by my side, and now, here I am trying to make it thru another day without shooting my boss or going insane because of the solitude. I think that Life which I have lived a month and a half ago was just a dream and nothing else. I have nothing to show for it now. And like water, it went through my hands. All I have left are memories which at times seem so distant and I question myself whether they were true or not.
Coming back from that fantasy might have been the worst mistake I have ever committed, but my responsibilities and priorities are what drove me back to Rochester in the first place. It only seems like an eternity right now because I am at the beginning of my journey, but seriously, I only have one year left. And the way time goes by now, time will travel at the speed of light and then I can do or go wherever I most desire...

The Man in the Scrubs

Today, I was walking in the university's School of Medicine because I had to pick up some papers for my office. It's been very hot here recently, so I was wearing my jean shorts, a ugly navy-blue t-shirt that says Rochester Scholars in the front, my hair was in a bun, my sunglasses acted as a hair band, and to top it all off, I was completly sweaty. I wasn't a pretty picture.
I was minding my own business, you know, staring off into the abyss or some philosophical crap like that. And all of a sudden, this young man, student of the school, about the age of 26, wearing a doctor's outfit, comes up to me and says, "Please smile. You're too pretty to be sad."

Then he looked me in the eyes and
I smiled at him.

"Thank you," he said.
And like that, he walked away.
Even though it hurt to smile, I kept smiling all day for him, but especially, for myself.
It's nice to see how life can take care of you even though you are going through difficult times. It's nature's little way of letting you know that you are not alone.

But....

The world has turned me and spat me out
But I will make it thru
I will follow the light
And hopefully one day all will be true

Life has given me tests
But let me tell you, my strength
And my love (por ti) will lead me to succeed

Times are rough at this moment
But one day I'll look back at them
I will laugh and say....

"Thank God for them"

I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

A lil' Remix

The absurdity of our situation
Is one that puts at high risk our relation

The sun and its following clouds pass us by
But it is those thunder storms that run us dry

Together we are as one
But it is seems to me, we are the ocean's pun

Through its malecious ways
Our love is put upon a maze

Silence seems to be my phone's eternal companion
Making it to be as deep and distant as the Grand Canyon

If the time is opportune,
Please come back to me by the next moon

But for now the image of you in my mind will have to do
Just don't let this be our last Adieu

Ahhhhhh

I hate AIM!!!! It always leaves room for interpretation and misinterpretation, one doesn't know what the other is thinking. Is it sarcasm, cynicism, or are they being true? So many feelings and emotions run through my head, and the true words that I wanted to say get erased. I love you, that's all I wanted to exclaim, to yell, to scream, to let you know. I am sorry for what I said or what I didn't .... Let's start all over again.

You : hey
Me: hello
You: how are you?
Me: good, i miss you
You: i miss you, too. i love you
Me: i love you

=*

I never knew that everything was falling through
That everyone I knew was waiting on a queue
To turn and run when all I needed was the truth
But that's how it's got to be
It's coming down to nothing more than apathy
I'd rather run the other way than stay and see
The smoke and who's still standing when it clears

Oh, Canada!

Here we go!!! So, yesterday (July 15, 2006) I went to Niagara Falls, Canada for the very first time with my Rochester Scholars group (the group of kids that I am a Residential Assistant for). Niagara Falls was amazing. I couldn't believe the beauty and the magnitude of their force. Never have I felt so tiny, so weak. I wanted to throw myself into them and be part of them.... but alas, I have my whole life to throw myself into. Niagara Falls (the city) was splendid, as well. In fact, it has everything that I have been looking for a place to live in; it has a metropolitan, a nightlife, greenery within the city, many parks, museums, nature ( THE FALLS!), but unfortunately, the only thing that I did not like was the immense amount of tourist. If I'd lived there, I wouldn't like to live among the mist of tourists and inflated prices. But nonetheless, it is a city to consider.

The bridge that connects the U.S.A. and Canada

Pretty

Queing to ride the "Maid of the Mist"...thank goodness, this wasn't our real boat.

Getting ready to ride the boat "Maid of the Mist" in my very fashionable raincoat (a.k.a. blue Hefty trash bag) in order to prevent us from getting soaking wet. Don't I look hoooot????

People getting closer to the Falls

Balloon and Falls

Beautiful

Going even further into the Falls...

up, close, and personal with dear ol' Niagara

The Skylon Tower and surrounding environment

Looking down on Niagara from on top of the Skylon

Very impressed....

Niagara Falls (city), Canada

Niagara and the Falls

This part of the falls is called the "Horseshoe".

MASSIVE....

Look at what we came across the way with...

Waiting for her groom... She met her future "to-be" husband 5 years ago at Niagara Falls and so, they decided to get married at the place where they met. *sigh* How romantic!?!?!

My DREAM Car!!!! 1969 Convertible Mustang GT on the roads of Niagara Falls. Ugh, I am sooo jealous. One day, one day....

Best Thing Ever!!!! Comics!!!! Whoo, whoo

Waaaaay smaller replica of the Eye of London in Niagara Falls, Canada

Frankenstein eating a Whopper on Clifton Hills...

Sitting on the chair of the tallest man to ever live. He was 8feet and 7 1/2 inches tall!!!!

Now, this is suppose to be the butt of human collage made by pieces of different scrap... The reason I chose to picture this is not because of the ass, but because the right butt cheek is the top part of a spinning top (toy) which is exactly like the spinning top that I use to play with and still have in my home!!!

This is suppose to be the world's largest Bierstein.... I don't really believe it, but it was in Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum

Just Wasting Time...

So I got my hair cut....it's not that much of a difference, but it's just a bit shorter. Don't really know why I am posting this up; it's probably because I am soo bored here. I have the day off today, everyone is working, and I can't do anything because it's raining like cats and dogs. Oh well, so much for having a non-boring summer. I wonder if I can leave everything and go traveling again? Hmmmm, anybody want to join or does anyone want to save me from this boredom? *sigh*

More Than Anyone -Gavin DeGraw

You need a friend
I'll be around
Don't let this end
Before I see you again
What can I say to convince you
To change your mind of me?

I'm gonna love you more than anyone
I'm gonna hold you closer than before
And when I kiss your soul, your body'll be free
I'll be free for you anytime
I'm gonna love you more than anyone

Look in my eyes, what do you see?
Not just the color
Look inside of me
Tell me all you need and I will try
I will try

I'm gonna love you more than anyone
I'm gonna hold you closer than before
And when I kiss your soul, your body'll be free
I'll be free for you anytime
I'm gonna to love you more than anyone

Free for you, whenever you need
We'll be free together, baby
Free together, baby

I'm gonna love you more than anyone
I'm gonna hold you closer than before
And when I kiss your soul, your body'll be free
I'll be free for you anytime
I'm gonna love you more than anyone

I'm going to love you more than anyone

I hate MY BOSS!!!

I know it's just the sixth day that I have been on the job, but I seriously want to kill my boss. That is basically the general consensus around the office. She is such a bitch... and I am not saying just because. I know that sometimes very demanding and highly-confident women could be possibly mistaken as grade A-first class bitches.... and of course many men that reflect latter qualities are held to be as very good professional businessmen. But back to the point.... SHE IS A BITCH!!!! She yelled at me in public in front of children, passerbys, and fellow co-workers of mine. I don't care if she is my boss and if she makes more money than me, or if she is in a higher class, that does not give her the permission to treat me (or anybody else) like shit. I seriously wanted to quit right there and then, but my morale (something that she seems to be lacking) kept me from taking the plunge because I don't want to let down my fellow colleagues. *sigh*

I just need to take a deep breath and pray that nobody has a weapon of any kind (including plastic knives and paper clips) around the time that I am with her.

The Red, White, and Blue.....and the Green

Well, yes, this is Fourth of July weekend is finally here.... finally??? I mean, how quickly it got here. I will be leaving tomorrow to San Antonio to celebrate my best friend's, Tracey's, 22nd Birthday. Then, Tracey, Terri, and I will be taking off to Austin to continue the celebrations and the country's birthday in Texas' state capital, Austin. 6th Street here WE come!!!! Woot. I love 6th Street. It's this one huge street in downtown Austin which is closed off from all traffic to permit pedestrians to walk all over the avenue that is infested with bars, clubs, tattoo parlours, concert halls, and piercing labs. Well, last year, when we went to Austin during Fourth of July weekend, we saw Lifehouse, met the band afterwards, and Tracey got a tattoo...... hehehe I wonder what will happen this year. Maybe another piercing for me!?!?!?!? Hahaha, just kidding. If this keeps on going, Austin will become a yearly tradition. But the fun ends on Wednesday because I will head back to Rochester to start working. Nah, who am I kidding. I will see the majority of my good friends. Mitch is a native of Rochester, Sean is living in Burton, which is a dormitory hall on the school's campus which is right across my dormitory, Ryn will hopefully be coming up to see us, and many many many more peepz. We'll see how this turns out. Time seems to be escaping through my hands once again..... sigh
But I can't complain I must be happy with what I have today

So, I bet you are wondering why I put "and the Green" on my title. Well, tomorrow Mexico will be holding presidential elections and the competition is very tight right now. the PRI, the party which dictated Mexico for over 70 years before the Fox administration is gaining power once again, the PAN, Fox's party is strong, and the PRD (which has the most corrupt, good-for-nothing candidate) is tide with the two previous as well. I just hope the Mexican public isn't blind and hopefully the camping blows, media manipulation, and celebrities taking part in this race won't affect their judgment. *sigh* Also, it is the very first time that Mexican cititzens who live outside the country can vote as well. Yes, I voted and it's quite cool becuase this is the first time in a very long time that I actually feel very involved with my native country. By 11pm tomorrow night the first round of counts will be announced and the general idea of the next Mexican president will be known. I hope my guy wins!!!
.... and Good Luck to the Germans on Tueday ;)

Hate me today
Hate me tomorrow
Hate me for all the things
I didn't do for you...
