So, not only is there a shortage of Agave, which is the plant that produces Tequila and takes 10 years in the making, now Malt Barley is on the decline as well. What is a poor college student to do with the higher prices and taxes imposed on some of our favorite beverages?

Thanksgiving 2006
I am currently drinking a glass of Cabernet Savignon and enjoying a slice of flan after two long days of walking in New York City. I hope everybody is having a great Thanksgiving dinner. I know I am. I miss everybody.

Thanksgiving Preparations
I can't believe November is more than half way over. We are preparing the house for our annual Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. This will be the house's 32nd Thanksgiving dinner which isn't much for a fraternity, but for a special interest housing, it is amazing. And I hope that it will continue for many more years. I am a little bit sad. Ever since I have been here at Rochester, I have been going to the D-House's Thanksgiving dinner and now, I am a Senior, I will be attending my fourth and final dinner. It breaks my heart. I am so happy that I will be giving the opening speech. I have always dreamed of it, however, I am afraid I might break out into tears. Well, I am cooking today for tomorrow's festivities. I am making a white past with mushrooms and a Mexican style stuffing. Oooohhhh, nice! Oh my goodness, which reminds me that I have to go to Wilson Commons and place an order for a sushi platter or else we won't have appetizers tomorrow. Gotta go!

It's raining
The rain hasn't stopped since last Thursday, and I literally feel that I am being poured on. I have so much work to do like always, but this time I really have to buckle myself down and try to finish it all by next Monday. I will be leaving to Diana's house on Monday afternoon once again to celebrate Thanksgiving with her and her family. Since I can't go home, I am going to the second best thing that I know. And not to mention, that we are going to THE CITY. You know what I mean when I say THE CITY.... oh yeah, New York City, the grandaddy of alllllll cities. I am so excited to go; all the Christmas decorations will be up (I think) and the Christmas Tree in Rockefellar Square will be lighted. Oh, and I can't wait to do some shopping (with what money, I don't know, but it will get done).
My good friend Nick will be celebrating his 21st birthday. Finally, he is the last one of us to turn 21 and we can finally go to bars and clubs without any problem. This really excites me because Nick is one of the few people that will go out with me and actually dance the entire night away. Plus, not to brag or anything, but we make an excellent hip-hop, pop, get your booty down, dance couple. I am still teaching him how to ballroom dance, but I think that might take a while. hehehe I think him and I will be going out to lunch tomorrow and might have a little party in the third floor lounge tomorrow night, but first, I must study for a test I have on Wednesday and another on Thursday..... Ay, caramba!!!
Don't you want to come with me?
Don't you want to feel my bones
On your bones?
It's only natural

Not the Same
My room is overly clean how I like it
I have regained space in my closet
I can concentrate on my work once again
And I have stopped tripping over some enormous shoes
My desk has enough room to stretch my arms
I can choose what to watch on t.v.
And I don't have to shave my legs every once in a while
But it's not the same
Something doesn't feel right
I miss walking into my room and seeing your smiling face
There's none of your clothes lying carelessly upon my bed
There's no one to make me laugh
I fall asleep crying to Heaven for you to hold me
But my request is rejected
I must console myself with your picture
And pretend that you are by me, holding my hand
...I miss you

Don't Turn Off the Spotlight Yet...
I went to Todd Theater last night to see the opening nigh of The Lower Depths. It was a fantastic production, but as much as I tried to enjoy myself I couldn't. I would look unto that stage and all I could think was, "I wish that was me up there. I wish that light would shine on me." Nigel (the artistic director of the theater) didn't help my situation either. He kept telling me that him and the theater missed me, that I need to come back, that I have to return to my love. It has been over a year since I have set foot on a stage and I feel like a piece of my heart is missing. What bothers me the most is the fact that I tell all my loved ones and family about my passion for the theater and acting, and they brush me off as if it were some unattainable fantasy of mine. The only person (besides my theater friends) who has truly expressed his belief in me has been my cousin Ely. The last time that I saw him in Brighton he told that I should chase my dream no matter what obstacles are in the way. "If you don't go for that dream, you might wake up one day and regret it," he said. Ely also said that he would be the first one in line to buy tickets to my first show or movie. It's that kind of support that I wish I had from everyone else. *sigh*

It's Been One Week....
Since Renke has arrived. I have never felt this happy before and I don't want it to end. We went to Senior Night last night at Nathaniel's. It was sooo much fun. All of my friends that met him thought that he was great. Everytime he left everyone would come up to me and ask, "Where did you find Him? Please tell me so I can get one myself." hehehehe (Now, don't get a big head about it, Renke, because I know you are reading this.) Renke and I played beer pong and I have to honestly say that we completely sucked at it. But we didn't look at as losing; we thought to ourselves, "Oh, more beer for us to drink!" lol I do have to say that I made more shots than him. =)

A Nice Visitor
I am sooo happy right now. Renke is here. Yes, here.... as is here in the United States visiting me. Although I have had to get used to a couple of things, I am so happy that everytime I walk into my room he is there. I am a bit concern though that he might be dying of boredom, but it is so difficult for me to get off campus and do stuff with him because 1.) the campus is a world of its own, 2.) I have a midterm tomorrow, 3.) I do not have a car, and 4.) the public transportation system sucks. Hopefully, after this week I will have some extra time so Renke and I can go about and hit town.
Well, so far everyone has been really nice and very welcoming of Renke. Everyone was just as excited as me before he arrived and even after. It was quite funny, because the night that he arrived we walked in through the front of the house and into improv auditions. Everyone just stopped what they were doing gasped and then there was somewhat of an awkward silence, followed by Nick running up to Renke saying hello and giving him a big hug. I think Renke was a little freaked out after that. But after that, I think he is slowly been growing accustomed to all of my friends' weirdness. lol

Just a Bit More...
A couple of more hours, but in the mean time so much work I must do. I am going to be so relieved when I turn in my 3 homework assignments and literary analysis paper for Hoffmann's Der Sandmann tomorrow. And then...
And then....
Well, we'll see....

Digging my Own Grave...
I am in lab right now and there was this really annoying cell phone ring going on about every 5 minutes. Everyone was getiing annoyed, especially myself. We started to look around the room, when I finally realized that the sound was coming from my bag!!! Everyone looked at me, especially the T.A., but all I did was laughed it off and got really red. Oh, me! That's what I get for changing my ringer last night, and not rememberring what it sounded like.
